US allegedly dropped a nuclear bomb on the Iraq-Iran border in 1991

Sunday 26 October
US allegedly dropped a nuclear bomb on the Iraq-Iran border in 1991
Chairman of the State Expediency Council Akbar-Hashemi Rafsandjani, urged an inquiry into a report that the US dropped a small nuclear bomb on an area near the Iraq-Iran border.
The former president and current Chairman of the Assembly of Experts addressed the weekly Friday congregation. He said that “the bomb blast killed many people and spread cancer and other diseases in the area, but no news was published about it”.
But Rafsandjani noted that some footage of the attack, which allegedly took place between Basra in Iraq and Iran’s border in 1991, was broadcast by an Italian television channel earlier this month.
This affair was widespread by media coverage but was censored in the media. At the Tehran University premises, Press TV quoted: “If the report turns out to be true, the US should be asked why it resorted to such a crime”.
On October 10, lieutenant colonel Patrick Ryder, a media spokesman for the Us Department of Defence, told that the Us used only “conventional weapons” during the Persian Gulf war (2 August 1990-28 February 1991).
The nuclear bombing Rafsandjani is referring to is based on a claim by US war veteran Jim Brown who said that the US dropped a five kiloton nuclear bomb on 27 February 1991 - the last day of the war.
RaiNews24 said he has conducted an independent inquiry and discovered that “a seismic event (5 kiloton) took place on that day”.
A documentary including an interview with an Iraqi doctor showed that before this war, there were 32 cases of tumours whereas in 2002, there were 600 cases.

Dimanche 26 Octobre

Iran defeated in United Nations Security Council

Monday 20 October
Iran defeated in United Nations Security Council
Iran says its failure to win a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council was an "obvious injustice".
Japan defeated Iran in a secret ballot Friday to secure the Asian seat on the Council. Japan won 158 votes while Iran got 32 votes.
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hasan Qashqavi told reporters in Teheran on Monday that there was "no logical reason" for Japan, which has served ten times on the Council, to "monopolize" that seat.
Israeli officials, meanwhile, who had spent the past three weeks reaffirming the United Nations leadership for being too soft on Iran, saw the result as a repudiation of Iran's legitimacy by the world body.
"The United Nation has saved itself from disgrace by preventing Iran's acceptance into the Security Council", said Kadima (the Israeli center parti) leader Tzipi Livni after Friday's vote. "Iran's candidacy in itself was unacceptable."
Israel's United Nations Ambassador Gabriela Shalev was equally blunt, saying in her statement:
"The members of the international community have demonstrated their resolve to prevent Ahmadinejad's Iran - a country that supports terrorism and threatens international peace - from a seat on the Security Council.
Iran, which is currently under three sets of Security Council sanctions over its nuclear program, may be the only country to have campaigned for a seat on the body while under censure, experts said.
Iran's United Nation mission also charged that the voting was affected by "unfair behavior and a false propaganda campaign by certain major powers".
In its statement, Iran's mission said it would continue to "call for change" and insist on "the need for a Security Council that is more democratic and better responding to the realities of the current era."

Lundi 20 Octobre

Alexandra’s Portrait

Alexandra’s Portrait

Alexandra is a very funny girl. Her friends call her Alex.

The first time I saw her was in 6° because we were in the same class. As soon as I saw her I thought that we would become very good friends, and that’s right. We laugh all the time together and we speak for hours and hours about everything and nothing. We share lots of moments of complicity.

I learned to know her and to discover all the things she loves like handball and drawing - her drawings are very good. When she has got nothing to do or when she is bored, she sleeps. It’s strange, very strange.

Alexandra likes people who have a silly sense of humour like her. She is very friendly and amusing but her main defect is to be pessimistic all the time. She takes everything at face value. But that’s OK.

We once spook about the future, and she told me that she would like that her prince charming to be very romantic, and heedful of her problems, and patient too because Alexandra isn’t patient at all.

To finish, Alexandra is a very good friend of mine. I can rely on her for everything. I hope that we will remain very close.
