World Day for Disabled People
The Iranian Minister of Social Welfare, Mohammad Shariatmadari, asked the mayors to experience going to work in a wheelchair for a day to see if the city is friendly to disabled people. He made these remarks last Monday on a ceremony held on the United Nations International Day of disabled people, regretting that the ceremonial rooms are not accessible to people with disabilities. The minister also suggested that persons with disabilities have a representative with government entities such as the Majlis [Iranian parliament] and the Ministry of Social Welfare. Moreover, he added that one third of the budget of the Iranian welfare organization should be allocated to rehabilitation services for people with disabilities.

Journée mondiale des Personnes handicapées
Le ministre iranien de la protection sociale, Mohammad Shariatmadari, a demandé aux maires de faire l'expérience d'aller travailler en fauteuil roulant pendant une journée pour voir si leur ville avait pris en compte les personnes physiquement invalides.
Il a fait ces remarques lundi pendant une cérémonie organisée pour la Journée internationale des Personnes handicapées des Nations Unies, regrettant le fait que les salles de cérémonie ne soient pas accessibles aux personnes handicapées.
Le ministre a aussi suggéré que les personnes handicapées aient un représentant auprès des structures gouvernementales telles que le Majlis [Parlement iranien] et le Ministère de la Protection sociale. Il a ajouté qu’un tiers du budget des services sociauxdevrait être alloué aux services de réhabilitation des personnes handicapées.
