Another award for Mohammadreza Shajarian
Legendary Iranian singer Mohammadreza Shajarian received the Patron Award at the Aga Khan Music Awards in Lisbon, Portugal.
This award was given to Shajarian “in recognition of his lasting contribution to the musical heritage of humanity, his unmatched musical mastery and his sustained social impact as an artist and teacher, both in Iran and beyond its borders.”
The Iranian music icon, currently fighting kidney cancer, was unable to attend the ceremony and it was his daughter, Mojgan, who received the award on behalf of his father.
Egyptian virtuoso Mustafa Said won the award in the Performance category, in which ney player Shahu Andalibi, sanctur player Arash Mohafez, kamancheh player Reza Parvizzadeh and singer Nasim Siabishahrivar, all Iranian, have also received nominations.

Le légendaire chanteur iranien Mohammadreza Shajarian a reçu le prix Patron aux Prix de musique Aga Khan à Lisbonne, au Portugal.
Cette récompense a été donnée à Shajarian « en reconnaissance de sa contribution durable au patrimoine musical de l’humanité, de sa maîtrise musicale sans égal et de son impact social soutenu en tant qu’artiste et enseignant, tant en Iran qu’au-delà de ses frontières ».
L’icône de la musique iranienne, qui lutte actuellement contre le cancer du rein, n’a pas pu assister à la cérémonie et c’est sa fille, Mojgan, a reçu le prix au nom de son père.
Le virtuose égyptien Mustafa Said a remporté le prix dans la catégorie Performance, dans laquelle le joueur de ney Shahu Andalibi, le joueur de santur Arash Mohafez, le joueur kamancheh Reza Parvizzadeh et le chanteur Nasim Siabishahrivar, tous iraniens, ont également reçu des nominations.
