At the start of February, the Israeli coastline was contaminated by an oil spill. This incident is described as “the worst Israeli ecological disaster” by Gila Gamliel, the Israeli Environmental Protection Minister. She held a press conference this Tuesday to unveil the first elements of Israeli’s investigation.
Gila Gamliel accuses Iran of being involved in this incident: a Marshallese tanker coming from Iran would have deliberately contaminated Israeli coastline. Iran hasn’t yet responded to these charges.
This new event is bound to increase tensions between Iran and Israel even more and will pollute the Israeli coastline over the next few years.

Début février, le littoral israélien a été pollué par une marée noire. Cet incident est décrit comme “le pire désastre écologique israélien” par Gila Gamliel, ministre de la protection de l’environnement israélienne. Elle a tenu une conférence de presse ce mardi pour dévoiler les premiers éléments de l’enquête menée par Israël.
Gila Gamliel accuse l’Iran d’être impliqué dans cet incident : un tanker venant d’Iran aurait contaminé délibérément le littoral israélien. L’Iran n’a pas encore répondu à ces accusations.
Ce nouvel événement va tendre encore un peu plus la relation entre l’Iran et Israël et polluera le littoral israélien pendant plusieurs années.
