Blamegame in Kabul


Early in the week, Robert Gates, US Defence Secretary, who was in Kabul, accused Tehran of « playing double game » by giving friendship and money to Afghanistan while in the same time helping the Taliban.

At a press conference in the Afghan capital, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad address those accusations and using Mr Gates'wording, he said the US had "created terrorists and now say they are fighting them".

The Iranian president said that Iran had never helped the Taliban in any way and that his policy is to support Afghan people and their country.

My opinion: this is just another example of the way diplomacy between Iran and the US works these days. But what is more worrying is that the accusations between the two countries are getting more and more violent and vicious whereas no military strike has been planned... so far.

Doubles jeux à deux


Tôt dans la semaine, Robert Gates, le secrétaire à la défense américaine qui était présent à Kaboul, a accusé Téhéran de « jouer double jeu » en offrant dans le même temps de son amitié et ses fonds à l'Afghanistan et de l'aide aux Talibans.

En réponse à ces accusations, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad au cours d'une conférence de presse dans la capitale afghane a utilisé la même formule que M. Gates pour rétorquer que les Américains ont « créé les terroristes et prétendent maintenant les combattre »

Le président iranien a déclaré n'avoir jamais aidé les Talibans d'aucune façon et que sa politique consistait à soutenir les Afghans et leur pays.

Mon opinion: ceci n'est qu'un nouvel exemple de l'état des relations diplomatiques entre l'Iran et les Etats-Unis. Mais le plus inquiétant est que les accusations entre les deux états deviennent de plus en plus violentes et malsaines même si aucune frappe militaire n'a été envisagée... jusque là.
